Newsletter: Dog Issues, Fun Suggestion, Cartoons & More
NEWSLETTER ISSUE #16
Hello and happy weekend (if you're reading this on the weekend). Let's dive in!
NEWS FROM AROUND HERE
Dog Decides He Wants to Sit in the Exact Same Place as Claire
Moments after Claire settled into a comfortable position on the couch, JJ decided that he, too, wanted that spot.
And he moved in.
"She got there first!" I said, but he pretended not to hear me.
"I can't write when you're on me!" Claire told him. He flat-out ignored her. Then he rested his chin on her hand and that was the end of that.
SUGGESTION: FACE APP FUN
We had a lot of fun last weekend with an app called "Face App." Have you heard of it? You can see what you would look like younger, older (not as fun), and as the opposite gender.
Here I am as a man.
I was texting pictures back and forth with my Mom and sister all morning -- we used the app on everyone. And I have to say, I think my brother-in-law missed his calling as a female model.
BEHIND THE SCENES VIDEO: HEDGER CORP
Perhaps you've seen me posting "Hedger Corp" stories on my website and thought, "What the heck is that?"
Hedger Corp is definitely a departure from my cartooning. So what exactly am I doing? Why am I playing with these toys and what's the full story there? Find out in this behind-the-scenes video!
Have any other questions about Hedger Corp? Reply and let me know!
MY CARTOONS
While I Was Out...
This week on my website I shared a couple funny things that happened when I left town. Here's one of them:
You can read the full story here on my website!
Latest Cartoons
In the past two weeks we've covered UPS deliveries, rehearsing for fights that never happen, tantrum techniques and more. If you missed any, head over to my website to catch up!
Most Popular
The most popular cartoon in the past two weeks was this one that my friend Simon Holland wrote, and I illustrated. I think it pretty much sums up how a lot of people are feeling at the end of the school year.
You can follow Simon on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook.
I got some funny comments about this cartoon, too. Someone said, "Wait, you're going to the trouble of wrapping the croutons in foil??"
And guess what? Everyone who is supporting my work over on Patreon (starting at just $1 per month) received a video showing how I put this cartoon together!
I also sent my Patreon supporters a video showing how this "tantrum" cartoon (below) came together. This one is based on my daughter Kate, back when she was a toddler.
HEDGER CORP
For those of you following along with the Hedger Corp saga, the office suffered through a "Smile" campaign, then a mysterious desk arrived and upended Derek's life.

FINAL NOTES
Did you know? Hedger Humor cartoons are supported by you! And if you donate $1.00 a month (or more) to my cartoon endeavors, you'll get behind-the-scenes information, as well as some rewards. I'm starting to post a video or image each week to show you how my cartoons come together. Come join the fun!
