Top Cartoons of 2017
Newsletter #29
Best of 2017
This week I've been counting down the Top 5 Most Popular Cartoons of 2017! Perhaps you've seen me posting them on social media? Well, here they are in one place, along with some background commentary. I'm also including a couple runners-up.
Let's dive in!
Number 5
A cartoon I did for Disney's Babble site. The cool thing about this cartoon is that it's made up of suggestions from readers. I posted the FIRST "Weird Things That Make Us Happy" cartoon, and then I read the comments and came up with this Part 2. It turns out there are a lot of weird things that make us happy! (Also, I learned that people are VERY divided about whether or not the corner brownie is the best.)
Number 4
This is the exact exchange I had with my husband. Then a little bit later, Claire did it to me. A lot of love in this family.
Number 3
"The Crouton" cartoon. A collaboration with my friend Simon Holland, who is so funny. Here's a "behind the scenes" video of how this cartoon came together.
Number 2
Self-checkout can be a challenging experience for many of us. This cartoon was a collaboration with my friend Abby Heugel from Abby Has Issues. I love her tweets.
Number 1
And in the "Number One" spot, this cartoon about the things we need to accept in our partners. I was so happy to see people relating to this cartoon! It was one of those where I was like, "I THINK others will relate, but we'll see..."
Runners-Up
Here are the cartoons that came CLOSE to the Top 5, but didn't quite make the cut...
Happy New Year!
Thank you for following along this year! My goal is to entertain you and make you laugh, and there's a lot more to come in 2018. So stay tuned!
