Pajama Incident
A couple of my friends bought me a truly excellent gift: a matching pajama set for me... and the dog.
I can speak for both of us when I tell you that we've never felt closer. Or more stylish.
I received the gift on a Friday, but it took me several days to actually wear the pajamas because I wanted my whole family to be present for the debut. I decided it would be a surprise.
Finally, the night arrived. No sports practices, no reason anyone was gone. Everyone was home, but off in their corners of the house. I dressed myself, and helped the dog into his little PJs. Then we reclined on the couch and waited for someone to come along.
Claire arrived first, and was not disappointed.
Then Kate walked into the room. She took in the whole scene...
Then whipped out her phone.
And Jack? Horrified.
So, yes. It was a total success!
We hardly ever dress the dog, but I think he somewhat enjoyed his pajamas. He lounged around all night, looking handsome and relaxed.
I have no idea where my friends got these pajamas, but if you're looking to "twin" with your dog, send me an email and I'll get you the info.
Crazy Pens
OK, I've given this gift and I've also received it, so I wanted to share it with you.
This certainly isn't for everyone in your life. But for the right person, it's great. It's the "Borrow My Pen: Subversive Pen Set."
It's a set of ballpoint pens, modeled after those free promotional pens you get at places like hotels, but with outrageous things written on them. So when you let someone borrow your pen, they might read it and think, "WHAT THE...?"
Be aware that some of them are R-rated. Here are a couple tamer examples:
So next time you need a weird gift, give these pens a try. Or just buy them for yourself and loan them out. Fun, fun, fun!
Behind the Scenes Video
I had to draw cars, but I'm horrible at drawing cars. So here's what I did. (Click on the image to get to the video.)

Top Cartoons
I was buried under greeting-card deadlines this past month, so I didn't send a newsletter out two weeks ago. Sorry about that! Since our last newsletter, I've posted cartoons about skiing, bath time, weird smells and more! So visit my website to catch up on anything you missed.
Here are the cartoons that performed the best over the past month. The first one is based on a conversation I had with Jack about Valentine's Day. As you can tell, we are super romantic.
This next one is a cartoon I did for Babble about little ways we show love.
Every little act of love counts, right?
And here's one more cartoon that did well. It's based on my life every time it rains.
I also wanted to throw in this next cartoon, since Daylight Saving Time starts this weekend in the U.S. and elsewhere. This is one from a few years ago, based on Claire's reaction when I tried to put her to bed after turning the clocks forward.
