Snack Fail
I thought it was a fantastic idea.
I couldn't have been more wrong.
It all started when I spotted a big container of cashews in our pantry.
Seeing this made me think...
As I was mulling this over, the idea of homemade trail mix popped into my head. But I didn't want to go to the effort of buying and mixing a whole bunch of nuts. So instead I thought...
I was picturing this:
So I did it. I bought a big bag of M&Ms, and I mixed them in with the cashews. This created quite a stir when the kids got home from school.
We each ate a few handfuls of the mix. My plan was working! Except for one small thing...
Indeed, the cashews were bringing everything down. They were total party poopers, destroying what would otherwise be a fun treat.
So... yeah. We just started picking the M&Ms out. And you had to carefully pick because even ONE cashew would ruin the whole experience.
It took us about two days to eat all the M&Ms, and now we're back to a huge container of plain cashews.
And I'm back to the question: How can I get the kids to eat these?? Hmmm... Maybe I should add mini Reese's Peanut Butter Cups?
Dog Wants You to Know: He's Ready for a Belly Rub
Heads up, folks. If you ever visit my house, get ready to give someone (I won't name names) A LOT of belly rubs.
I feel like everywhere I turn, I see this:
Oh, and no matter how long you're rubbing his tummy, it won't be enough. The second you stop, you'll get this look:
And believe me, he does not lose that staring contest. So you're better off just re-starting the belly rub. Your hand might cramp up. You might pull some wrist muscles. Keep going. Just send me your physical therapy bill.
Hedger Corp Story
The saga of Bob's shoes came to a dramatic end! In case you missed it, here are all four parts of the story. If you want to read the whole thing, just start with Part 1 and at the bottom of that post, you'll see a link to Part 2 and so on.

Kids & Medicine
Here's another cartoon in the series I've been doing for KnowYourOTCs, which is a site where you can find tips about the safe dosing, storage and disposal of over-the-counter medicines. (You can follow them on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.)
I've done all of these except the last one (thank goodness). The one that really surprised me was the pill. Claire refused to take it, and it was TINY! I was like, "This is easier than swallowing food!" But no. We had to sit there for 20 minutes while she worked up the nerve to swallow it. I was trying to be understanding, by internally I was rolling my eyes SO much.
