Still shopping around? Well here are some things that I've enjoyed lately. Maybe someone on your list will like one of these items!
First up: Some Face Mats Party Coasters from Cost Plus World Market. They're $7.99 for 20 coasters, double sided! Each one is the bottom half of a face, so you put them over your face and then laugh and laugh.
I bought them for our neighborhood holiday party, and they were a hit. Here I am with Jack, and then with my friend Sabrina:
Next idea: The book "How to Appear Normal at Social Events and Other Essential Wisdom" by Lord Birthday ($10 - $15). I realize this is a timely topic after I just showed you those weird coasters!
But seriously, this book is very offbeat and funny. The humor might not be for everyone, but for the right person it's great. Here's the cover and a sample page.
The text on this sample page is small... maybe you can zoom in? At any rate, this is what the book is like. A series of weird lists about funny topics, accompanied by amusing drawings.
OK, next: Something more normal. Candles! Specifically, I like the two below:
A candle made by Thymes with the scent Frasier Fir. You can buy it on Amazon or from the Thymes website, and likely other places as well. When we had our holiday party, people were asking me about this candle because it smelled so good. ($20 - $30)
The candles by Hearth & Hand at Target. I really like most of the scents, but my favorite it Leather & Tobacco. It smells like a cabin in the winter. ($10 - $15)
Now something cozy: The Big One blanket. Kate says this is her favorite blanket ever because it's so soft. She's had hers for years and is wrapped up in it all the time. I Googled it and found that you can get it at Kohls or Amazon. It costs anywhere from $20 to $40 depending on whether or not there's a sale. Lots of colors and patterns.
I also like products from this site called Knock Knock. They have a lot of funny things, but I specifically enjoy this Messy Citation notepad. It's a fun and humorous way to remind kids to clean up. I also like the On-the-Go Game Pad that you can keep in the car. These would be good gifts for someone who's a parent.
Now let's look at two of my favorite beauty products:
Some really good lip gloss, made by Fenty Beauty. It's called "Gloss Bomb" and I like the color "Fenty Glow." It looks good on everyone. You can buy it at Sephora or on the Fenty Beauty website. You can also buy it on Amazon, but weirdly it looks like it's more expensive there. ($18 - $24)
Dry shampoo by Living Proof. It's the best. Expensive, but worth it. Find it at Ulta Beauty, Sephora or the Living Proof website. ($23)
If you want to get personal, you can choose a picture of a friend or loved one and create a deck of cards out of it! My mom made these cards for me featuring our dog. He looks like he is very serious about playing cards. Very serious.
She used Shutterfly, but most every photo site offers this option.
Speaking of dogs, if you have a dog lover in your life, check out the "I Miss My Dog" sweatshirts over at We Rate Dogs. ($40) They have lots of other things, too (hats, shirts). They make a great calendar too (wall version and desktop, $15).
Now back to books for a minute. This book by Oliver Jeffers is for kids ages 2 - 7, but guess what? It's on my Christmas list. It's called "Here We Are: Notes for Living on Planet Earth." It's won a ton of awards, and I just love his illustration style. I hope I get it. And it would be a great gift for any young kid on your list.
Finally, if you're looking for more books to buy for others or yourself, you can check out National Public Radio's Book Concierge. I was over there earlier, and it's such a wonderful tool for finding books that match different interests. Definitely worth checking out!
OK, well that's a pretty random assortment of gift ideas. But there you go! Let me know if you have any questions about these suggestions. If you have items you LOVE and would recommend as gifts, let me know that, too! Happy shopping!
Holiday card
You know that person in your life who makes the BEST holiday treats? Well maybe you should give them a card! I've got this one out on shelves right now. Find it anywhere Recycled Paper Greetings cards are sold!
Here's the cartoon it's based on:
Cartoons!
I've covered a lot of topics over on my website, so if you think you missed anything, go over there are take a look! (Follow me on Instagram or Facebook to see the latest posts as well.)
These two cartoons were the most popular since the past newsletter.
This first one was a collaboration with my friend Simon Holland, who is so very funny. I follow him on Twitter and love his stuff.
Do you have this drawer too?
This is the other cartoon that resonated with people. This was 100% my actual conversation with Kate.
Mmm... just love these special moments with the kids.

Every month I make extra content for all the people who support me over on my Patreon page (starting at $1 per month). Come join us! For example, next week I'll be posting a video about how I had trouble drawing a hand. It was ridiculous, and you'll see how things went.
Plus, the support I receive on Patreon helps me continue creating the Hedger Humor cartoons to entertain you. So THANK YOU!
