Game to Play
If you're looking for an amusing game, I have something for you to consider. Basically, you partner up with someone and you each draw half of a character, then you join the two pieces up. I explain more in this video.
News From Here
Several things to update you on. First, Claire seems to be having trouble getting off the kitchen floor to come to the kitchen table and do schoolwork.
When she does manage to drag herself to the table, she's not all that productive. I walked over to tell her "good job" for doing her schoolwork, and she told me, "I'm not doing schoolwork. I'm staring at this website until the shirt I want comes back in stock."
Later, I found her playing an iPad app where you fly an airplane.
She's not the best pilot, I'm afraid. Here just a sample of things she said while playing this game:
"I'm flying to Los Angeles, but I have no idea if I'm flying in the right direction."
"Darnit! I've been flying in the COMPLETE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. Sorry, passengers! We are NOT arriving on time!"
"Uh oh. The plane is doing a backflip. Sorry again, passengers."
Then she landed at the wrong airport, totally cutting off another plane that was landing at the same time.
If she ever becomes a real pilot I'll let you know so you can avoid her flights.
After terrorizing people in the sky, Claire turned her attention to training our dog, JJ.
JJ is a tough dog to train because early on we messed things up. We were trying to train him to sit, and also to shake. But we didn't do a good job separating those two things, so now whenever we produce a treat, he runs over to us and does this sit-shake combo thing.
Claire was trying to teach him a brand new trick: How to roll over. But he wasn't having it. He remained frozen in his sit-shake pose, waiting for more rewards to rain down upon him.
Claire said she's going to keep trying, but I don't know... our dog is quite stubborn. We'll see how it goes.
In cartoon-related news, Huff Post recently interviewed me about my coronavirus cartoons, and The TODAY Show Parents website wrote an article as well. It's been really exciting to have new people find my work!
Another bit of news: I created a new, dedicated Instagram account just for Hedger Corp.
For those of you who don't know, Hedger Corp is an ongoing web series I created about my "employees" and all the ridiculous predicaments they face. Here are the employees back when we weren't self-isolating:
I'm updating that new Instagram account with stories (told in "chapters"), and then when a story is done, I post it on my website.
I find it very therapeutic to come up with these Hedger Corp stories. They're so weird, but somehow they help keep me sane. Go figure.
If you're a fan of Hedger Corp, or just want to check it out, visit the Instagram Page or the Hedger Corp section of my website.

First, the backstory: I really appreciate when people comment on the cartoons I post, and 99.99% of the comments are insightful, funny, supportive, or just overall really nice. Then, rarely, there's someone who feels the need to be annoying.
Over time, I realized that I was putting off looking at the comments because I didn't want to encounter anyone annoying. But that's not good! I can't let some random (and again, rare!) comment keep me away from all the other great comments. So to put things in perspective, I decided to draw pictures of all the types of annoying responses I might encounter. Then if I encountered one, I would just look at the drawing and chuckle.
So here's what I drew:
I was thinking maybe this could help you, too. If you deal with anyone unpleasant, feel free to look at these pictures while you are on the phone with them, or interacting with them online.
If you click on that image above, you should be taken to a larger version that you can download onto your device.
I find that just seeing these images helps me find some humor and relax. I'm hoping it does the same for you!
Most Popular Cartoons
You can find my cartoons on Instagram, Facebook, and on my website. So follow along!
The following three cartoons were the most popular since the last newsletter.
The first one was suggested by my friends, who have elementary school kids (my kids are in middle school and high school). These elementary school zoom meetings sound fun! I want to join one!
Next is a "Spin the Wheel" cartoon. As I said when I posted this, don't be surprised if you cycle through all eight mental states in one hour. We're living in weird times.
Finally, this cartoon, about finding the right college roommate. Shout out to all the messy people hoping to score a clean roommate!
P.S. I totally agree with that kid. In *theory* I prefer clean.
