Love the survey! Everybody likes to have quizzes and this is a perfect one for the new year. I always tell students that no one is really focused on them because they’re too busy thinking about themselves. Happy new year. Thank you for all your humor.
was at the grocery store the other day and saw a woman pulling a reluctant child along down one of the aisles. As I approached, I noticed that the child was wearing what appeared to be new sneakers. 'wow! cool sneakers! I bet you can run really fast in those!' I chirped. The child immediately gave me a bright smile and excitedly said, 'and LOOK! They LIGHT UP TOO!' as she danced in place her shoes twinkled. "wow!' I exclaimed, 'I wish I had shoes like that!' (I really do. being an adult it dumb)
Many years ago I read Leil Lowndes books an overcoming shyness and making friends. One thing she mentioned was most people are more concerned with themselves and don’t really notice you so don’t worry about it. (Very poorly paraphrased). Anyhow, although I do try to look my best and present my best self, I no longer kick myself when things are not as perfect as I hoped. I love the survey idea. I already do something similar. I ask myself if I was with a friend what would I think or feel if they said, did, looked ‘whatever my issue’. I can honestly say that most of the time it doesn’t affect how I think or feel about them. So I have a pimple on my chin and am going to a party. Should I feel self conscious? Would I judge someone else for having a pimple on their chin? No. So, forget about it who have a good time.
