This is a tip I shared in my monthly newsletter a while back.
Here’s what you do: If you have something stressful coming up, think of a Bingo card. Imagine it has a bunch of empty squares.
Now fill those squares with things you expect to happen during this stressful event. For example, if you’re assembling a piece of furniture, some of the squares could be:
Then, when those things happen, you can triumphantly think:
Of course, if you experience a lot of “Bingo!” moments, that means you’re experiencing a lot of annoying moments…
But don’t focus on that! Just focus on winning that Bingo game…
Or maybe you can’t get excited about the Bingo squares. Totally understandable. But you can at least feel some sense of vindication, knowing you correctly predicted what was going to happen.
Oh — and if something annoying happens that’s NOT on your Bingo card, just add it to the card and cross it off. Mmm… that feels good.
If you think this might work for you, give it a try! And let me know what you think.
P.S. I’m still working on the merchandise based on some of the Monday Motivation tips. More on that next week!
Have a great week ahead!
