If it’s your own trail mix, it’s called “category eating.” If it’s in a bowl at a party, it’s called “strip mining.”

I always call it highgrading. (Which technically means throwing the fish you don’t want back and keeping the big ones).

I’m going to start using this term for taking the goldfish first from the Chex mix. 😆

Great Analogy ! Preparing for the hike along the trail and being accepting of the adventure “it’s possible I’ll see a snake ... it’s possible I’ll see a beautiful buck “ either way I’m going forward.

I needed this today! I blew too much of yesterday feeling sorry for myself about being older and needing to hire people to dig me out of the blizzard. And hoping the power stayed on. Today's a new day and I'll try to look for the M&Ms again!

Ah yes! I always use the mantra: 'You win some, you lose some" when things don't go as I want. But this analogy sums it up perfectly.

"On social media, people often showcase their M&M moments." This is TRUTH! I like to say they are only showing their highlight reels...while we are slogging through our not so great reels. LOL!

this is what I have noticed about trail mix: if you take a bag of M&Ms and toss a frew pecan pieces into it, it becomes 'trail mix', therefore a healthy snack (and if anyone gives you grief about eating a bag of M&Ms, you can show them the pecan pieces, look at them square in the face, and say 'trail mix').

Absolutely.

AND it LOOKS like you were being healthy by NOT eating the M&Ms... this is secretly genius. Respect.

Dogs have this attitude about life. Oh boy! Snow! My Favorite! Oh Boy! Walks! My Super Favorite! Oh Boy! Ride! My Favorite! Oh shit. Vet. Bummer. Oh Boy! Checking P-Mail! My Favorite!

I try hard to achieve this attitude, but it doesn't come naturally.

The salty raisins are my favorite part! Another lesson of trail mix life, we all enjoy different things and that's okay!
