This is an idea for when you’re going through a difficult time. Maybe there’s a big change happening, or you’re struggling with something, or there’s a health issue with you or a loved one.
Try to imagine that you’re enrolled in a class called “A Tough Phase of Life.”
I know. But you ARE in the class.
No.
No. Just let me continue with this Monday Motivation!
Ok, so you find yourself in this unfortunate class called “A Tough Phase of Life”—a class you never asked for and don’t want.
Here’s one thing I would say: Remember, as you go through this time period, that you are learning and gaining insight that could help other people through a similar situation.
So as you go along, consider what wisdom you are gaining. What is helping you? What makes things worse? What are some things you wish you’d known at the beginning?
This “class” you’re in is transforming you into someone who will have deeper empathy and understanding in life. It’s making you a wiser, more compassionate and perceptive person.
I know. But it’s happening. And, at some point, you can be a valuable source of comfort and knowledge to someone else who is struggling to navigate a similar experience.
Tough times can feel really defeating. But maybe by thinking about how your experience could help others, you can regain some power.
Let me know if you think this might work. And have a great week ahead!

Thank you for this. I'm currently taking Heart Failure 101 and am not enjoying it at all! My assignment for this week is to get a defibrillator implanted. But looking at it your way, I'm becoming quite an expert!
Is this for credit? 🤪 Love your humor! And, okay, also love how I learn something along the way. 😁
