This is beautiful ! Atleast It feels good to think I am not alone in this, a lot of people may try to find humour to cope with the situation better

Thanks for this motivation this morning in particular! My thoughts were running wild after a heavy thunderstorm blew through last night! ❤

I love the CAN I FIND ANY HUMOR IN THIS sign! Growing up the only way we could get our abusive mother to stop beating us (with belt, fists, feet, anything handy) was to make her laugh. My older brother was the best at this--he could make her laugh so hard, she'd cry. As a result, all 3 kids have very dark humor. It is also a survival trick for healthcare providers (I'm an RN).

OK! I will "try to find the humor" in my two hour meeting with the kid who was assigned to be my new boss.... the kid with 3 years of work expeience vs. my 33. I will try to find the humor in me spending 2 hours to "explain the engineering process" to her. We all know that when you are called upon to explain your job to someone, its because they are going to be getting your job. There will be a lot of humor in it, but probably not for me. I guess the humor is, she has to do my sucky job now!

Ugh! I'm sorry. That sounds like very dark humor, indeed...

Brilliant - and had to share with family members who could use the straight and simplified truth about moving forward.

I found out that I have to move out of my office this week and go back to a cubicle. I’m having a hard time coming up with a positive thought. Any ideas?

I thought of one - a big sign that says, “I hate when that happens!”

Not positive exactly, but at least I’m thinking about how I feel instead of getting mad about the situation.

Right, that's a step forward! Or maybe the characters could be holding a sign that says, "Oh, COME ON!" And they could look all exasperated -- so at least they're on your side.

thanks for sharing this smile. instead of 'can I find humor in this?', my mantra is closer to: 'this is funny because....' then let my brain fill in the blank or at least wander down the rabbit hole of my life (no complaints. I just have an abundance of white rabbits in waistcoats lately.)

Yes, that's a good one! It's a better prompt because then you need to come up with *something* funny, no matter how small.

“Little presenters” - love it (or them)! And of course, the reminder that we (can) control our thoughts. Some can be more challenged than others in this ability to control one’s thoughts, and then we might need to draw on kindness and empathy towards them (not as easy to do it as to say it, I concede).
